Workshop #1- Introduction to Ayurveda (Highly Recommended for demystifying the Basics of Ayurveda!)

Workshop #2—Cooking for Vata Dosha 

  • Understanding the concept of “Vishama agni”- Erratic digestion
  • Learn to use vata balancing foods to correct vishama agni/ Vata imbalance
  • Learn about the tastes that balance Vata dosha
  • 1 day Diet plan for Vata dosha – Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner & snack ideas
  • Cooking demonstration & tasting of Vata balancing foods
  • Menu-How to make your own Ghee, Aloo Parantha, mung dal khichari, fresh ginger pickle, creamy butternut squash soup!

Workshop #3—Cooking for Pitta Dosha 

  • Understanding the concept of “Tikshna agni”- Hyper metabolism/ Fast digestion)
  • Learn to use Pitta balancing foods to correct Tikshna agni /Pitta imbalance
  • Learn about the tastes that balance Pitta dosha
  • 1 day Diet plan for Pitta dosha – Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • Cooking demonstration & tasting of pitta balancing foods
  • Menu- broccoli soup with coconut milk, sprouted mung bean salad with mint cilantro chutney, cabbage potato veg curry, whole wheat roti, sweet lassi.

Workshop #4—Cooking for Kapha Dosha 

  • Understanding the concept of “Mand agni”- Hypo metabolism/ sluggish digestion)
  • Learn to use Kapha balancing foods to correct Mand agni/Kapha imbalance
  • Learn about the tastes that balance Kapha dosha
  • Diet plan for Kapha dosha – Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • Cooking demonstration & tasting of Kapha balancing foods
  • Menu- spiced ginger tea, curried spicy cauliflower, chickpea curry, steamed basmati rice, chickpea salad bowl.

Does your arthritis prevent you from slicing an onion or whipping cream? Arthritis does interfere with many daily activities, and one of the most important of these is cooking. The pain and stiffness caused by arthritis can prevent you from cooking your favorite meals and reduce you to eating frozen dinners. In this workshop, we will talk about how with some simple adaptations, you can regain your cooking abilities. Also I will provide you with ayurvedic and holistic nutrition tips on how to manage your arthritis and try and minimize your pain by eating right!

In this workshop, we will talk about how with some simple adaptations, you can lead a healthy lifestyle. Also I will provide you with ayurvedic and holistic nutrition tips on how to manage your blood pressure. I will demonstrate a few dishes which can be enjoyed by people struggling with hypertension without any fear!
